What We Do

since 1974, we have led the effort to make the communities we serve better for everyone.

Christian Associates has operated continuously for nearly 50 years.  When the founding members first met in 1974, they didn’t realize that they were laying the foundation for a unique charitable organization that started with a simple mission of helping nonprofits in community become sustainable. Over the years, this concept grew, eventually resulting in the founding of the Stone County Library, the Senior Center, the Stone County Health Department, and Harbor House Domestic Violence Center. Christian Associates also launched the area’s first Mobile Food Pantry that served Stone, parts of Christian, Barry, and Lawrence Counties. In the summer of 2023, Christian Associates reached an agreement for Christian Action Ministries to take over the day to day operations of the Pantry. To make all of this work possible, Christian Associates operates Thrift Stores in Branson West, and Nixa, Missouri. Each store also serves the community by providing assistance to residents who have lost everything in fires, floods and tornados – a ministry within a ministry.
